NORCODA presents a two-part introduction to drone mapping. This is the hands-on field session for the drone mapping workshop. Attend the classroom session (see other event) for an overview of the drone mapping process, recommended software, and general background.
In this session we will demonstrate flight planning and execution for drone mapping missions using Pix4D and DroneDeploy. Participants may bring their own equipment to test, also. Be sure to set up your flight planning software before arriving.

NORCODA presents a two-part introduction to drone mapping. Local drone professionals will discuss the principles of drone mapping, 2D and 3D outputs, flight planning, common software, and more.
We will conduct the workshop in two parts: a classroom session, followed by a hands-on field session. This date/time is the classroom portion. Be sure to RSVP to the field session also, if you are planning to attend both.

The Classroom session will be held in the Lakewood Public Library (main branch) Multipurpose Room.
15425 Detroit Ave., Lakewood OH 44107. To get to the multipurpose room, enter the library and find the main circulation desk. Across from the main desk is the Children’s Room. Go into the Children’s Room, then turn left down the main aisle and go all the way to the end. You will see the Multipurpose room. If you need help, ask any librarian. They are great people.
Join us Thursday March 14th for a drone hardware extravaganza. Check out some of the newest, biggest, (and smallest) drones available for commercial drone pilots today. The staff of Ohio Drone Repair and regional drone service providers will discuss various professional drone equipment for aerial photography, videography, inspection, agriculture, and more.

Join us Thursday February 8th for a panel discussion “Drone Careers and Starting a Drone Business”. Hear from Cleveland area professional drone pilots, and get your questions answered in a friendly, informal atmosphere. We’ll discuss how to get started with professional drone work, types of drone careers, tips for finding drone jobs, and more. This is a great forum for students and others considering work with uncrewed aircraft system (UAS).

The 2023-2024 NORCODA Education Series starts with this year’s hottest topic, Remote ID. Join us December 13th to learn about Remote ID, and how it applies to you. We will cover a variety of topics in this discussion. Basics of Remote ID, Compliance for old and new drone equipment, What the FAA’s enforcement deferral means, and more.

Join NORCODA for Lakeland’s Annual GIS Day. The event is for students, staff and the community to engage with GIS professionals and to learn how GIS impacts our daily lives. We typically have a lot of professional drones and equipment on display, and lots of industry pros to discuss drone mapping, 3D modeling, multispectral, and remote sensing.
Enjoy some fall colors and flying at Top O Ledges picnic area in Hinckley. It is one of the only drone-allowed areas in the Metroparks. Many area drone pilots will be out to share tips and tricks for capturing great fall photos and videos. Bring your own drone or just stop by and say hello. We will have equipment you can use.
NORCODA is joining forces with the AUVSI Northern Ohio Satellite and the Cleveland Quad Squad drone racing group for a common Drone Zone exhibit space and drone flight demonstration at the Cleveland Airshow.
Discover Aviation Day is an annual event at the Lorain County Regional Airport that was created as a fun and educational family event to introduce people to the world of aviation.
