Discover Aviation Day is an annual event at the Lorain County Regional Airport that was created as a fun and educational family event to introduce people to the world of aviation.

Aircraft Displays featuring Beach City Baby Douglas C-53, 1930’s Stearman Biplane, TBM Avenger, Metro Life Flight helicopter and crew, T-6 Texan (selling rides), and the Ford Tri-Motor (selling rides).
Kid’s Activities, Food Vendors, Airplane Ride Opportunities. Free Young Eagle airplane rides for youths ages 8-17. A parent or legal guardian must be present. Admission $10 car. $5 motorcycle
Getting started with drones! Our North Coast Alliance members Dan Chan and Dennis Hoffman will be on hand to teach the basics, purchasing and operating drones. An exciting, fun and adventurous hobby!

Join us for some Spring flying at Top O Ledges picnic area in Hinckley. This area has plenty of trees, fields, and open space for beginners or advanced pilots. It is one of the only drone-allowed areas in the Metroparks. Bring your own drone, or just stop by and say hello. We will have equipment you can use.

Drones are the fastest growing segment of aviation in the United States. As of January, there are over 871,000 drones registered with the FAA, and over 307,000 certified Remote Pilots. These numbers are projected to continue to grow and we want everyone who operates drones to have fun and be safe!
